LONDON SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM

Creative Writing, Journalism and other Courses Study at Home

Students who cannot attend may study their course at home, either by post, by email, or, in some cases, as online courses. We offer a wide range of creative writing and journalism diploma courses.

Those wanting a postgraduate distance learning course take our two year, four module, on line course, which gives the same qualification as the postgraduate attendance course.

The LSJ has been teaching journalism by distance learningsince it began - and unlike most 'schools' who offer distance learning courses we are a real school, staffed by real journalists who enjoy working with real students!

We only teach and advertise our own courses, and any course you see on any of our different websites has been specifically created by us to fill a particular need. You can rely on our long experience of teaching to give you the best opportunity to maximise your success as a journalist or a writer.

Our creative writing and english courses are as well-known as our journalism courses - and again, all our tutors are experienced and published writers in the field in which they teach. You will receive the best support and advice available - and will enjoy the process of learning at the same time.

Since we started training students in 1920, we have established an excellent reputation for the standard of our teaching and the overall quality of our courses. We offer no gimmicks and no promises - just the best tuition and teaching support you will find.

The majority of our students looking to start a career are successful, and are a great addition to the profession. Others, who want to improve their writing skills, or who perhaps write for pleasure, enjoy their courses while enhancing their knowledge.

Come and find out for yourself.

Attend a Journalism or Writing Course in London

Employing only professional journalists and experienced writers we offer students who attend the school in London a range of courses -full time postgraduate courses, a summer school in August, short courses for both journalists and creative writers and a series of evening courses held throughout the year.

The School is situated on the edge of Little Venice, 15 minutes walk from Paddngton and within 20 minutes by Bus, car or tube of the City, West End, Kensington or Chelsea. Based in comfortable surroundings, with extensive computer facilities, our postgraduate students have every opportunity to make good use of the time they spent with us - even though the courses can be hard work and will require time and effort over and above the time set aside for lectures and tutorials.

Our postgrad course has a very low drop-out rate because of the quality of both teaching and staff. Students find the lecture/tutorial session method we use highly effective, and most find employment within a short time of graduation.

Our evening classes provide a range of journalism and creative writing courses - you will need to set aside one evening a week for between 6 and 12 weeks, depending on the course you choose. Short courses, lasting two or three working days, also cover similar topics.

The majority of our students looking to start a career are successful, and are a great addition to the profession. Others, who want to improve their writing skills, or who perhaps write for pleasure, enjoy their courses while enhancing their knowledge.
