Israeli mobile operator Partner is in preliminary talks to acquire 012 Smile.Communications, controlled by Shaul Elovitch's Eurocom Group, Globes Online reports citing sources close to the deal. According to the news portal, Partner CEO David Avner recently contacted Elovitch about a deal. Avner and Elovitch agreed to continue the talks, and Partner has begun an in-depth study for a deal. For Partner, the acquisition of Smile would be a springboard for entering the fixed-line telephony, international calls and Internet service provider markets.
